Sharpin' Up  is a Toronto based barbershop started by, the owner, Ryland Jackson. Ryland started cutting hair in his early teens and realized he wanted that to become his profession. In his later teens, instead of going off to college with his friends he opened his own shop in East Bay Front at the age of 19. The shop started off small with only his closest friends and family members as his clientele. However, on Oct. 3rd, 2013, Ryland posted a video of his clients haircuts onto social media and the video was shared and viewed over 400,ooo times. That week his shop started to get major buzz from media news outlets and even local celebrities' which led to many people in the Toronto area wanting to come to Sharpin' Up. With the overwhelming response of clientele, Ryland hired in a few barbers to help him out. Since Oct. 3rd, the shops gained many new clients, improved the interior and exterior of the shop and is now in the process of expanding to a new location in Toronto!
